My crappy laptop

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

As far as I can tell I have now repaired my lap top for the 6th time but I may have lost count. It\\\’s really getting on my wick. I have always hated laptops, but I am a one-man band and I need to be able to show my work to my clients. The top of the range laptop I brought a year ago died, 2 days after the gaunted became void, almost like it knew exactly how long my warranty was. I have wasted a day trying to fix it, with no luck. It chucked along for two days just enought time for me to find all the disk and get everything back on it and then it gives me nothing but the blue screen of death that mean I have to shell out more cash and tear all my remaining hair out.

Anyway on with the show:

Our next presenter is the first woman to ever breast-feed an Apple - Gwyneth Paltrow.

Chris Rock

I know you\\\’ve all been waiting for the groovy sites I\\\’ve been amusing myself with. Do you remeber Sonic the hedgehog? Well here is a online version of the game called ultimate sonic. My mate Dave has quit his job as a chef and is now working for first4sale a online estate agent, check it out.

And it goodbye from me and goodbye from er me.

I am now recovering for the party!

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

The party was fantasic. Fraiser and Tom put loads of effort into the party.

I ended up dressing up as a mummy, mainly because I completely run out of money to buy anything else. It went down really well. Their were far better costumes my favorite was jack the ripper and his whore. The best bit was seeing all the undead doing karaoke!!

But your not here to talk about me:

Europe law change to do with website accessibility.

It now law in Europe for your website to meet a certain level of accessibility.

Here is a quick tool that enable you to find out if your site lives up to the required standard.

Check your site here

The law now says that the all websites in Europe shoudl be accessible to all disabled people, so that you don\\\’t fall foul of the Disability Discrimination Act. All the details are here: Disability Discrimination Act.

I was sent this statment by someone attempting to sell their consulation service.

\\\\\\\”It only takes one complaint to the Disability Rights Commission about your website for them to start an investigation, and if they decide to proceed with legal action, you could face a huge cost not only in compensation, but also for your company’s credibility.\\\\\\\”

- Anne-Laure Dupuis

Only a few website realistically need to worry about these changes in legislation. Only really large website need worry about this. Their are only a couple of orginsation that would bother to sue over this, and I doubt they woudl sue my little websites.

Anne-Laure Dupuis service isn\\\’t really fraud, it is ligimate and coul dwell be useful (by the way both of her websites don\\\’t compile). However it is attempting to scare people so that they pay for her service, quite underhand. in my opinion.

Just to complete your day how about some groovy sites I found on my travels. He\\\’s a shamless plug for a company that we work with coffee vending machines. Here is a selection of the worst short stories you have ever seen, they don\\\’t promise to be anything else, but can be quite amusing.

And it goodbye from me and goodbye from er me.

Our second open session.

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

We are about to have open session. I invited everyone back after the last show But I don\\\’t think I did a very good job of selling it. With any luck Tom will turn up and I’m fairly sure that Simon will come.

We don’t have that much of a plan, which is quite sloppy, but that kinda understandable after we put so much time into the performance.

But to lighten the mood:

I love what I got out of they fight crime today:

He\\\’s a genetically engineered voodoo househusband who hides his scarred face behind a mask. She\\\’s a mistrustful streetsmart safe cracker from a secret island of warrior women. They fight crime!

Here is some other webs offerings I\\\’ve been amusing myself with. Michal has started a website for her Jewish speeddating in London have a look. Well if your bored their a huge selection of online games on lunararcade.

But now I must go.

The big Halloween bash

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

Well my sis and her mates are converting their huge flat into the Bates Motel for one night only THIS HALLOWEEN in order to vamp it up and celebrate halloween!

I can\\\’t wait! Me, Beth and Simon are all thinking of going. the only real issue is what to wear. I was thinking something from the undead range, maybe a Ghost, Ghoul or a Mummy. We may even coordinate, that would make things easier things easier to find. I done a lot of dressing up at university, however I often over do it, it seem to be the thing at the moment, to allow people to just come dressed as a pop band or a movie star in a boring role and then I turn up on fire and everyone ignores me.

Show was good

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

The show tied together well and people laughted! I shouldn’t have worried about the audience.

I needn’t have worried about the audience. Half of the seats we’re empty which was a little disapointing. I think the funniest line of the show was “FAILED”. SOrry I’m still hung over will fill in more detaisl tomorrow,

Still got my daily dose of webrubbish.

Valeria has asked to join!

Filed under: General, Diary, My archive

A mate of mine has asked to become a member of our impro troop. Now everyone else has said that it is fine with them and now everyoen is waiting for me to give the thumbs up the thing is. It is not fine with anyone, they want me to be the person who tells her that she can’t join because none of them want to be the bad cop.

I’m not really sure what to do, I’ve already told them that Sam can’t join. Now Valeria has technically been in shrimp rocket before and pervious to the point where I have joined. . The thing is I’m not sure if she is what we need. this is the problem we can only really have one more person join the group so who every they end up being really need to fulfill our requirements, and Valeria isn’t that complimentary, she plays a similar character to Devon and Richard they funcation as extras and add very little.

But I’ve still had time to look at rubbish on the net.
