Not so peachy now eh
After immersing myself in one of the best albums that I have accumulated, I choose to take a minute to chew over why it is so great. The CD I was listening to was Korn's Life is Peachy. I know, they have made several albums and have been pumping them out seeing as the early 90s, however this is still one of the most apporiate they have to offer. Allow me to inform you why. For starters, the CD is crude, yet polished.
Sounds mad, right? Yet, it extremely isn't. This was Korn's 2nd album, which meant they were past the first CD jitters (even though their first CD, purely called Korn, also rocks nevertheless it isn't on the same level as Life is Peachy). While they were no longer newbies, they were still deeply rooted in their musical style without outsiders trying to get them to conform to popular culture. I'm not saying their other albums are not good I enjoy them all. What I'm trying to say is that there is a difference when you compare Life is Peachy to their other CDs. When I hear a couple of the tracks from their third CD, Follow the Leader, for example, I think, yep, this song was made with radio play and record sales in mind. With the type of music Korn puts out, pleasing the masses should be least of their concerns. With Life is Peachy, there is not a single song that makes me feel like sales are the highest priority. The CD rocks, and afterwards rocks a few more the_best_albumsin_my_collection%.
